Oliver Blume was born in Braunschweig in 1968, where he graduated from high school in 1987 and received his diploma in mechanical engineering from the Technical University in 1994. He entered the automotive industry through the international trainee program of the Audi AG. He later took over as head of the body shop for the Audi A3. Blume received his doctorate from Tongji University Shanghai in 2001 and was appointed as assistant to the Board of Management, responsible for Production, at Audi AG in the same year. In 2003 he became head of the Audi pilot halls across all locations and then moved to SEAT in Barcelona in 2004 as head of planning and pre-series center before becoming head of production planning for Volkswagen in 2009. In 2013, Blume took over as Member of the Board of Management for Production and Logistics at Porsche AG in Stuttgart and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Management in 2015.
