After studying automotive engineering at the TU Berlin, he began his career at the Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg in 1999. There he completed his doctorate in accident research and worked as a development engineer in vehicle safety. In 2008, he was appointed to the management of Audi AG as Head of Department in Technical Development Ingolstadt. From 2010 to 2013, he supported the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) in the electromobility coordination office for Audi AG.
In addition to his work at Audi AG, Prof. Schwarz teaches at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW) as a lecturer for "Integral Safety and Driver Assistance" and "Climate Protection in Road Traffic" and heads the specialist forum on mobility and infrastructure at the SPD Economic Forum.
