Paul Ymkers has been Consul General at the Consulate General in Munich since 2018. As consul general, he is committed to strengthening and deepening economic, scientific and cultural relations between the Netherlands and southern Germany.
Paul has a long track record in shaping international relations on an European and global level, focusing on research, education, development and innovation, bringing together stakeholders in and between high-tech value chains especially in the digital economy (Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security). Working for the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1991 he was based in The Hague, Delhi, Jakarta, Bucharest and Brussels. He has a master’s degree in International Law and Economic Geography from the University of Utrecht.
