Marc Aubreville graduated in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2009. Subsequently, he worked 10 years in research and development in the medical device industry for a major hearing aid manufacturer, first as a signal processing engineer and later as a system architect, responsible for interface design and machine learning algorithms. In 2016 he joined the pattern recognition lab at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in part-time to pursue his PhD in the field of deep learning-based medical image recognition, which he completed in 2020. In October 2020 he was appointed professor for image understanding and medical AI applications at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt. Prof. Aubreville has a strong interest in human-machine-interaction, especially in the context of recommender systems. His mission is to bring human-centric AI systems to clinical environments.
