Country Manager Leonhard Stärk (* March 4, 1959 in Nieder-Olm, Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate)     Born in Nieder-Olm near Mainz, he has been state director of the Bavarian Red Cross since 2007. of the Bavarian Red Cross since 2007. Before that, Stärk was managing director of the blood donation service, a subsidiary of the BRK, for five years. After graduating from the Gustav-Stresemann-Wirtschaftsschule in Mainz and completing his and subsequent training as a bank clerk, Stärk first studied a few semesters of business administration in Mainz, before studying law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich and graduated with the 1st state examination. After his legal clerkship and the completion of the 2nd state law examination, Stärk started his professional career in industry: From 1988 to 1992, Leonhard Stärk worked as a contract lawyer in the aerospace department at Dornier in Friedrichshafen. He then worked for Deutsche Telekom AG and Daimler Benz Aerospace. In 1996, he returned to Deutsche Telekom and held various management board positions at subsidiaries in Amsterdam, Berlin, Moscow and Paris. Leonhard Stärk represents the BRK as the largest state association in the association management of the DRK in Berlin and is chairman of the working group for civil protection in Bavaria, a cooperation of all voluntary aid organizations in the Free State. Stärk is a member of the Central Advisory Board of the Bank für Sozialwirtschaft.   He is the father of two adult daughters and lives in the Upper Bavarian town of Miesbach.
