Kris is a non-practicing engineer, an optimistic urban planner, and a self-taught filmmaker. New Urban Mechanics is the City of Boston's civic innovation R&D lab exploring and prototyping what's new and next in cities. With the Mechanics, Kris oversees an interdisciplinary team and a portfolio of prototypes. He leads the City's mobility prototypes and consults on public realm experiments, including the management of the Boston’s autonomous vehicle deployment and curb management experimentation. He has won awards from the Federal Labs Consortium, American Planning Association, multiple film festivals, and is perfecting dad jokes in his spare time.
