Kerstin Andreae has been Chairwoman of the Executive Board of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) since November 2019. She studied economics at the University of Freiburg and began her political career in 1999 as a member of the Freiburg municipal council. In 2002, Kerstin Andreae was first elected to the German Bundestag as a Member of Parliament for the constituency of Freiburg. From then on, she was a member of the German Bundestag for 17 years and held various positions within the parliamentary group of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen. Among other things, she was the spokesperson for economic policy and deputy chair of the parliamentary group, responsible for coordinating the areas of economic, tax, financial, labour and social policy.
