Professor Jürgen Bortolazzi is Head of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Automated Driving at Porsche AG.
Before joining Porsche, he has been Head of EE Architecture and Safety Electronics at Daimler AG from 1994-2005 and a member of the Fraunhofer Research Group Computer Aided System Design from 1988-1993. Juergen Bortolazzi was a founding member of the FlexRay and AUTOSAR industry consortiums focusing on standardized vehicle communication technologies and software architectures. During his career, he was responsible for several innovative vehicle system technologies like a high definition matrix beam frontlight system and predictive cruise control system. Since 2019, he was also responsible for the setup of a new data driven methodology for highly automated driving in the Volkswagen group. He holds a Dipl.Ing. and a Ph.D. in EE from the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany. Since 2007, he has been an adjunct professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
