Dominique Debecker began his career at Solvay in 1987 and never left. He holds Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management. He started as researcher in Corporate R&I in the field of engineering polymer compounds. In 1992, he moved to commercial activities for inorganic chemicals in Benelux, with main achievement in doubling revenue and tripling profitability in 18 months. From 1999 to 2008, he served successively in two Global Business Units, with worldwide scope, as Marketing, Strategy and then Business Director.
From 2009 on, Dominique scoped, developed and rolled out the Solvay proprietary and best-in-class tool SPM (Sustainable Portfolio Management) that has supported the Company to transform its portfolio while making informed and fact-based decisions on sustainability risks and opportunities for business.
Dominique serves today as Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer and Head Business Solutions, with primary focus on business value creation leveraging sustainability unmet needs. He sits at the Board of CSR Europe and at the Operations Committee of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
