"Arnd Franz, born in 1965 in Stuttgart, Germany, joined LKQ Europe as Chief Operating Officer on April 1, 2019. Since October 1, 2019, Arnd Franz has held the role of CEO of LKQ Europe.
LKQ Europe, a subsidiary of LKQ Corporation, with its head office in Zug, Switzerland, is the leading distributor of automotive aftermarket parts for cars, commercial vans and industrial vehicles in Europe. It currently employs approximately 26,000 people with a network of 1,000 branches and approximately USD 5.5 billion in revenue in 2020. The organization supplies around 100,000 independent workshops in over 20 European countries. The group includes Euro Car Parts, Fource, RHIAG Group, Elit, Auto Kelly, and STAHLGRUBER Group, as well as recycling specialist, Atracco. LKQ also holds a minority interest in Mekonomen Group.
Arnd Franz started his career in the private equity space at start-ups and in the automotive supplier industry. In 2001, he took the helm of MAHLE's Filtration Business Unit in North America. After a brief period as a Controller, he became a member of the management team at MAHLE Group and Head of the Aftermarket Business Unit at MAHLE in Stuttgart in 2006. In 2013, he was appointed to the Group Management Board with responsibility for Corporate Sales, Application Development, and the Aftermarket Business Unit.
Thanks to his previous activities, Arnd Franz has broad, yet comprehensive, knowledge in topics including: vehicle powertrains, automotive interiors, thermomanagement, and workshop equipment. For many years, Arnd Franz has been involved in automotive industry committees, including VREI (now AAMPACT), VDA, Clepa, and TecAlliance. In addition to his role at LKQ Europe, Arnd Franz is currently Chairman of the Advisory Board of JW Fröhlich GmbH, a leading supplier of highly-automated, quality control systems for combustion engines, transmissions, and electric drive units."
