See you all again from September 5 to 10, 2023 in Munich
From Sept. 7 – 12, visitors will be offered a show with over 500 prominent exhibitors and over 500 spectacular events in downtown Munich. The currently valid hygiene measures will be observed, of course; a sophisticated hygiene concept has been developed for all areas. An overview of the IAA in five key points is presented below.
Under the motto "What will move us next," you can experience the most recent mobility solutions and learn more about technical advances along the path to climate neutrality. This year the show will extend into the downtown area for the first time – to exactly the place where the future of mobility will take place. New live formats, including talks and discussion groups inviting visitors to take part, will round off the program.
The Open Space brings the IAA MOBILITY into the downtown area and generates enthusiasm with a setting both urban and historic. Discover the latest innovations from automobile and bicycle companies on Munich's most well-known squares.
Exciting product presentations will take place on Königsplatz. Numerous exhibitors – including Ford, Michelin, Polestar und IBM – will present their products here. In Arcisstraße, brands such as Dacia, WEY and Valeo will display their innovative products. The Blue Lane Road starts at Königsplatz. Shuttle busses and test-drive vehicles will bring you quickly to the exhibition grounds or Brienner Straße.
The Blue Lane Road connects the Open Spaces and is the site of the Blue Lane Micromobility, with which you can explore the downtown area on e-scooters and e-bicycles.
The Kaiserhof – or Imperial Palace – in the Munich Residence offers the perfect backdrop for the mobility solutions of the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport (BMVI) and the show "Open minded for new visions." On top of this you can let yourself be amazed by the art installations and interactive stations in the Brunnenhof.
In the mood for an individual test drive? The Apothecary Courtyard serves as the departure and arrival point.
The Open Space Extended is in the direct vicinity of the IAA Summit. Your IAA Experience Ticket gives you access to the exciting test tracks and routes. Avid cyclists and vintage car enthusiasts are sure to get their money's worth here. The IAA Heritage by Motorworld is a special highlight; this is a forum and commercial platform full of classic automobiles and exclusive rare finds. The area is rounded off by exhibitors representing the segments of sports cars and motor sports.
Only climate-friendly vehicles are allowed to travel on the 12-km-long test route connecting the downtown area and the exhibition grounds, i.e. e-cars, hybrid vehicles and HOVs (carrying at least 3 persons). The selection of vehicles available for test drives is as diversified as the IAA MOBILITY itself. Are sporty SUVs your thing? In that case, the AUDI Q4 sportsback 50 e-tron quattro could be your cup of tea. Or would you rather have a small car for the city so you can find a parking spot faster? Then the smart EQ fortwo cabrio is perhaps the perfect city zipster for you. What’s more, an e-sportscar best described in superlatives – namely the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo – is waiting for you to test drive it.
And that's not the only way to get from A to B quickly. On the Blue Lane Road, you can get to – and return from – the Open Space in the downtown area by the fastest route!
The IAA MOBILITY Summit is the most important meeting point of the year for the mobility industry. And you can be right there in the middle of it: from Sept. 10 – 12, the Summit on the exhibition grounds is open to the general public.
The Conference, conducted mainly in English, completes the Summit and invites visitors to exciting talk shows, stories, debates and keynote speeches on four conference stages where the diversified aspects of mobility will be on the agenda. You can find the entire program with numerous prominent speaks here or in the IAA MOBILITY App.
The IAA MOBILITY takes place in the last week of the Bavarian school holidays, which makes it the perfect way for the whole family to end the summer break. Munich’s central Marstallplatz offers the Kids World including a “children’s driving school” with the coolest cars for kids, an exciting driving circuit, opportunities for climbing, and face-painting. There will also be plenty of food and drink, as Munich’s gastronomy will have special IAA offers available on its outdoor areas. Special pedelec safety training is offered for seniors. More information here.
From now on and at the IAA MOBILITY, adults and kids have opportunities to join in shaping the mobile future. Future of Mobility and Sandbox Gaming will give teams of schoolchildren, students, talented individuals or companies a chance to design the urban and mobility concept of the future. Prizes will be awarded for the most interesting and creative new gaming worlds. For adults, the Citizens Lab with its Speakers’ Corner on Marienplatz will offer an opportunity to propose and discuss ideas for the mobility of the future.
On September 10 and 11, IAA MOBILITY offers a very special program. Experience a true summer feeling with the Ibiza Symphonica. The famous DJ duo Milk & Sugar plays together with the Munich Symphony Orchestra on September 10, 2021 live at 7:30 pm at the IAA MOBILITY. On Saturday, the world of motor sports meets on the Autohero Stage. More here.
