The Blue Lane connects the two locations Summit and Open Space of the IAA MOBILITY. This is the first time that visitors will be able to experience the latest in vehicles and technologies live in realistic traffic conditions on a transfer route, which is also a test track, between the heart of Munich and the trade fair center. The Blue Lane is a route in the form of an environmental track - open to anyone who drives suitable vehicles.
During the entire event from 6.9.2021 - 12.9.2021, exhibitors will be able to demonstrate and have their zero-emission vehicles or congestion assistants tested on the 12-kilometer Blue Lane during the IAA 2021 opening hours. Bus companies can present their latest vehicle technologies to visitors on the route in the form of shuttle buses. At the Open Space Extended, the B2B2C area on the Summit's open-air site, exhibitors can present their products that have not yet been approved for public road use to visitors on a test track as part of the Blue Lane Future.
The Blue Lane is a future-oriented track for all modes of mobility. The integration of public transport such as metro as well as cycling has been considered from the very beginning. Bike manufacturers will present the latest trends in e-bikes as well as bicycles at micromobility hubs in the Open Space. Visitors can experience how they might use different types of transportation during a trip and switch between them as needed - transferring from the shuttle bus to the IAA Blue Lane Underground and then continuing with their own bike.
