COVID-19 Regulations for visitors

Your health is our top priority. To ensure the greatest possible safety for all visitors to the IAA MOBILITY from September 7 to 12, we have prepared a comprehensive safety and hygiene strategy for the event. We are in close contact with the Bavarian authorities and will continuously adapt the safety and hygiene strategy accordingly. All the on-site measures will be put into effect by specially trained personnel on the exhibition grounds.

We recommend that you buy your tickets online

To Ticketshop

to ensure smooth and swift admission to the Summit and the Open Space Extended on the exhibition grounds, and the Open Space in Munich’s city center. Please note that under the current COVID-19 regulations, you may purchase only one ticket online per person and per Shop account (except for family tickets).

During the coronavirus pandemic much of what is valid today is no longer valid tomorrow. This means that the rules may be revised during the coming weeks, depending on the pandemic situation and the legal regulations. Below you will find some FAQs that we will update continuously to keep you informed.

Current protection and hygiene measures

(as of 06.09.2021)

These points must be observed when visiting IAA MOBILITY

Admission only with 3G proof
Admission to the exhibition grounds and to the Open Space areas in downtown Munich is only possible with 3G proof (vaccinated, recovered, tested). For you as a visitor, this means in concrete terms: In order to be able to participate in the IAA MOBILITY, you must either have full vaccination protection, be proven to have recovered from a COVID illness or present a negative antigen rapid test or PCR test. However, the test result must not be older than 24 hours. Children up to their 6th birthday and children not yet enrolled to school are exempt from compulsory testing. Pupils are generally considered to be tested with a view to the regular tests at school (even during vacations).

Deposit proof online when purchasing tickets and save time on site
Take advantage of the opportunity to provide proof of 3G when you purchase your IAA MOBILITY ticket in the ticket store. For vaccination certificates this has been possible since August 24, test results can be uploaded on the day of the visit. This eliminates the need for you to queue at the controls on site and saves you time. Please use the specially signposted fast lanes for this purpose. Nevertheless, please note that there may be waiting times at the entrance. In addition, we recommend that you visit the IAA MOBILITY without bags for security reasons. You are not allowed to take luggage larger than DIN A4 onto the grounds; bag checks will be carried out.

Limited testing opportunities on site
Testing is mandatory for visitors who are neither vaccinated nor recovered. To avoid longer waiting times, we recommend that you take the test at a testing station no more than 24 hours prior to your visit. Only limited testing facilities are available on the exhibition grounds and in the Open Space areas, please expect longer waiting times.

Masks are mandatory for visitors at the IAA MOBILITY
During your stay in the exhibition halls and in the Open Space, you must wear a medical mask (surgical mask) in accordance with current official requirements. This also applies to the outdoor area on the exhibition grounds. The Occupational Health and Safety Act applies to exhibitors' employees. This stipulates that a medical mask must also be worn at the trade show booth.

The basic rule “Please keep your distance” still applies. People from different households must stay at least 1.5 meters apart. Special rules and markings on the ground near the entrances will help you keep your distance. You must observe the rules and the markings.

At the IAA Conference, participants’ places will be arranged to maintain the minimum distance. The seats at the numerous catering outlets will also be set out to ensure the minimum spacing required.

At the IAA MOBILITY we want to be considerate to one another. Therefore, to ensure everyone is protected, please wear a medical mask (surgical mask)  on the trade show grounds including the Summit, the outdoor areas and the Open Space Extended. You must also wear a medical mask (surgical mask)  mask at exhibitors’ stands.

The latest ventilation systems will be deployed in the halls on the Munich trade fair grounds to ensure that the air is replaced regularly. The air introduced into the rooms has the same quality as the outdoor air. In addition, wherever possible we will leave all doors between the halls and all outside doors wide open. This will allow you to enter without having to touch any door handles or openers.

When you buy your IAA ticket you will have to register your contact details (first name, surname, address, telephone number and e-mail address). This enables complete tracing in conformity with the data protection regulations. If there is an infection we can ensure that if any coronavirus cases become known during the IAA MOBILITY, the responsible health authorities can contact you. All your data will be deleted after four weeks.

There will be opportunities for all visitors to undertake sufficient regular hand hygiene. During the IAA MOBILITY, all the sanitary facilities will be cleaned at frequent intervals. We will also have a large number of disinfectant dispensers in place at the Summit and the Open Space Extended.
