The IAA 2018 – a must for suppliers

The IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hannover is a must in the exhibition calendar for all suppliers in the vehicle industry, which are interested in a high-quality presentation in an international setting.

The IAA Commercial Vehicles is the world’s leading trade show for mobility in the field of commercial vehicles, transportation and logistics. It is the platform where the most important and the most numerous world premieres are displayed – and a large proportion of them are exhibited by suppliers – The IAA, unlike any other automotive trade show, demonstrates both high quality and quantity as it reflects the entire value-added chain. Traditionally, suppliers are by far the largest exhibitor group. The highly innovative products and the appealing stands catch the visitor’s eye. The IAA is also the most international commercial vehicle trade show, with 60% of the exhibitors coming from abroad.

Full attention guaranteed

The IAA generates the greatest media response of any automotive trade show around the world. National and international newspapers, trade media, magazines, online media, and TV and radio stations carry reports before and during the entire show. The support of the organizer, the VDA, ensures that exhibitors’ press releases are widely distributed, both in Germany and abroad. The IAA platform enables news bulletins to be disseminated simply and swiftly. The IAA website is accessed about one million times during the month in which the show takes place. IAA social media channels offer an insight into the daily show-life and present the highlights of the IAA in the aftermath of the show.

Networking for professionals

By displaying at the IAA, the exhibitors pursue the primary objective of making personal contacts with existing and potential customers. The exhibitors’ expectations are fulfilled in every respect at the IAA: The proportion of trade visitors at 85% on average is just one piece of supporting evidence. The IAA is the platform for exchange with customers, journalists, trade visitors from OEMs and suppliers, and representatives of academia and politics. Furthermore, the IAA has a reputation as a communication and information-exchange platform among the exhibitors themselves. The IAA is hugely important for sharing news, views and information. Exhibitors can enter into targeted dialog. The New Mobility World offers additional room for networking. At the IAA Commercial Vehicles, over 30% of visitors to the stands come from the other exhibitors. Exhibitors from the supply industry receive the most visitors actively seeking discussions – by exhibitors of all sizes, by domestic and foreign exhibitors, and by almost all exhibitor groups.

Presentation and advertising options for exhibiting suppliers

A presentation for the entire show time – nine days (incl. press day) – pays off for suppliers. An appealing stand structure with an open design promotes the company’s image, is additionally inviting and ensures positive perception. Depending on the pursued objectives of the trade show participation, it may be expedient to adapt the stand structure to the different target groups and modify the design, e.g. after the weekend. With a stand at the IAA, firms can also present themselves to a large and target-group-specific audience as an attractive employer and conduct targeted recruiting measures. Guest tickets can be used to invite (potential) customers, suppliers and other business partners to the IAA and to the corporate stand.

During the second exhibition week, the VDA offers technology tours for developers and purchasers from the German vehicle manufacturers. These tours are adapted to the wishes of the visitors, who then have ample opportunity to visit other exhibiting suppliers. Through the goING and workING projects, the VDA offers joint initiatives for encouraging school-children and students to come to the companies’ IAA stands and obtain information about the opportunities for learning and development at the various firms.

In the IAA Press Center, press boxes will be available from the first Press Day onward for exhibiting firms to distribute their own press information. Furthermore, exhibitors may post their press releases on the IAA homepage. These electronic press boxes will be available in advance of the IAA and updated on an on-going basis. The classical and electronic press boxes allow the exhibitors’ press releases to reach journalists both on site and around the world.
