Drive the stars of the IAA

A large number of new models and premiered vehicles representing various brands of commercial vehicles are ready to be test driven by visitors during the entire IAA 2018.

The IAA is electrified – 36 vehicles are available for test drives

The commercial vehicle industry is currently working at top speed to electrify its vehicle models. Numerous electric vans and trucks are thus eagerly awaited at this year's IAA – and will be available to visitors for test drives. Never before were so many electric commercial vehicles – 36 in all (twice as many as in 2016) – available for test drives at the IAA. Well-known brands such as Daimler with Fuso, Krone, MAN, Nissan, Renault and Iveco Magirus are offering their newest models for this purpose. Furthermore, suppliers such as Voith, BPW Bergische Achsen and ZF Friedrichshafen will be putting their newest developments and innovations in this sector to the test in especially equipped commercial vehicles. All of the electric models available for test drives will be parked on the Platz der Nationen west of Hall 9 in the southern part of the CC grounds.

Exciting experiences are also in store for visitors to the stands of the exhibitors Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone, Libner, Sevic Systems and SAIC Mobility Europe and of start-ups such as Urban Arrow and Street Scooter. The latter are offering test rides on their "last mile" solutions: cargo bikes and electric mini-transporters.

Highly efficient models with conventional powertrains and big-names such as Ford, Iveco Magirus, MAN, Scania and Nissan will be represented. The supplier Continental will also be offering its latest developments for extensive testing. At the stand of mobile home manufacturer Van Hool Bus and Coach, visitors can inspect three truly comfortable mobile homes. Test drives of these models start on the CC grounds west of Hall 27 right next to the West 1 Entrance.

Just get in, start the engine and go for a test drive

The tours are of different lengths. All the electric vehicles can be test driven on a designated section of the IAA grounds; conventional models can be taken into city traffic. During the drive an expert will accompany you to answer your questions and provide professional advice. At the IAA professional truck drivers and customers thinking of expanding their vehicle fleet can gain practical experience on the desired model or intensively test a commercial vehicle with the latest powertrain generation.
