Harassment and insecurity are major concerns for many women while navigating urban space. One in three women have experienced or witnessed harassment while using public transport.
In this session, we want to examine this issue and underline the need for long-term and radical change. To begin, we will present research from across the globe, examining how research can be turned into action. We will ask how cities are drawing from recent research and innovative pilots to create lasting commitments to gender equality in mobility, and examine a project that uses an app to fight harassment and gender-based violence in public spaces. This panel is hosted by Severine Huin (Women in Mobility) and presented by Women in Mobility (WIM), partner of IAA Conference.
