The IAA is the largest platform for mobility worldwide, both for the passenger car sector and the commercial vehicle industry. Due to the growing popularity of visitors and exhibitors, the IAA was split into a passenger car and a commercial vehicle platform in the early 1990s, and has been held every year since then: In odd-numbered years as the IAA focusing on passenger cars and in even-numbered years as the IAA Commercial Vehicles.
