Alternative powertrains, connectivity and digitization: The commercial vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers are now in the middle of a previously unknown transformation. These exciting concepts were slated to be the focus of this year's IAA Commercial Vehicles, the leading platform for transport, logistics and mobility worldwide. The IAA Commercial Vehicles 2020 would have been the most powerful show in our industry.
Jan Heckmann, Project lead IAA from VDA:
"Due to the corona pandemic, unfortunately, we had to cancel the show. The continuation of the tense pandemic situation has reinforced our conviction that this decision was the right one.
In the past weeks and months, we have looked into the option of holding a virtual IAA Commercial Vehicles. After intensive discussions with our member companies, we decided not to pursue this idea for technical and economic reasons. However, we do want to design and establish virtual elements for future versions of the show.
We support the use of all measures, including those taken by the trade media, to proactively communicate commercial vehicle topics. We at VDA welcome the use of these formats by the commercial vehicle and supplier industries to stay in contact with their customers and business partners. Especially In times of crisis, we have to stand together, keep the lines of communication open, and show what our industry can achieve.
We already look forward to seeing you again at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2022."
