Review IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018
Vans, buses and trucks – commercial vehicles are a major part of our lives. Today we can choose from an extensive range of goods worldwide that are delivered right to our doors. This would not be possible without freight transport and logistics. And it is the commercial vehicles that cover that last mile. They carry over 70 percent of transported goods and therefore form the backbone of transport and the economy. They are also service providers and chauffeurs. They dispose of our waste, help us to move house, assist the rescue services, take our children to school and drive us to work. So commercial vehicles actually keep our everyday lives “on the go.”
The IAA Commercial Vehicles takes place in Hannover every two years, and is the world’s leading trade show for transport, logistics and mobility. It offers a unique cross section of the entire value chain in the industry, from vehicles to transport and logistics, and from manufacturers to the many medium-sized suppliers.
In 2016 more than 2,000 exhibitors presented over 300 world premieres on around 270,000 m² of exhibition space to around 250,000 visitors, thus illustrating the potential of this dynamic key sector. In 2018 there will once again be an attractive program of supporting activities and the future-showcase New Mobility World to enrich the IAA Commercial Vehicles.
The New Mobility World will concentrate on the question of how transport and logistics can be made even more efficient, greener and smarter. To do so, it will bring manufacturers, suppliers, disruptors and free thinkers together. It will center on events examining ground-breaking topics such as digitization, alternative powertrains and automated driving.
Added to which, the demonstration area and the open-air site will enable visitors to experience live the new vehicles, services and solutions for the transport of the future.
