“The IAA Conference is a new offering for exhibitors and visitors to enter into a more focused personal discourse. It will welcome top-level speakers from the realms of politics, business, society, industry and startups. Automotive companies will meet new digital players and outline their future scenario for the mobility of tomorrow – in a multidisciplinary, interactive and international setting. Furthermore, we want to expand the panel discussions at the IAA Conference by adding customer groups – such as commuting single parents, single city-dwellers who make a conscious decision not to own a car, and petrol-heads – to give just a few examples. We will also hold discussions with representatives who are critical of automobiles, who are striving for new mobility solutions particularly in towns and cities,” said Bernhard Mattes, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). He added, “At the IAA 2019, more than ever before the mobility of tomorrow will be experienced, seen, heard and felt with all the senses.”
The IAA Conference will focus on five core topics: Automation, Connectivity, Clean and Sustainable Mobility, Urban Mobility and Mobility-as-a-Service. It follows on from and integrates the successful New Mobility World (NMW) under the umbrella of the IAA. A total of 250,000 people already visited the NMW at the IAA in 2017.
“Driving tomorrow” is the slogan for the IAA 2019 (Frankfurt am Main, September 12 to 22), a meeting place for global players in the automotive industry, providers of new mobility solutions, innovative hi-tech firms and emerging startups. The IAA is the largest mobility event of the year. This year the participants will experience new formats for the first time: the IAA Conference, where pioneers and experts from the mobility industry will discuss future developments; the IAA Exhibition and the IAA Experience with a large number of experiences; and the IAA Career especially for students, career entrants and professionals.
