Frankfurt/Schemmerhofen, August 28, 2019. The "IAA Heritage by Motorworld" will be making its debut at the IAA Cars in Frankfurt on September 12-22, 2019. With this event, the Motorworld Group will be creating a fascinating world of classic automobiles in the heart of the IAA in the centrally located Hall 4.0, and in doing so will build a bridge between the origins of mobility and the future.
The "IAA Heritage by Motorworld" is part of the IAA Experience, with which the IAA 2019 accentuates and expands the experience of mobility on the IAA grounds in Frankfurt. The new format, which takes in all of Hall 4.0 with its 11,000 square metres, focuses exclusively on mobile classics, specialist high-end craftsmanship, and scene service providers. Exhibitors will be displaying premium classic cars, classic sports cars and hypercars, classics-to-be, limited editions, together with classic motorcycles. Also present will be providers from the fields of restoration and care, spare parts, accessories, lifestyle, watches, clothing, art and literature, etc.
Retro live and in colour: Style icons and exotics at the IAA
BRABUS Classic, for instance, will be bringing many perfectly restored Mercedes-Benz classics to Frankfurt, including a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, a sleek sports car that had many famous fans, among them Sophia Loren, Tony Curtis and Clark Gable. The 300 SL Roadster, with its top speed of 250 km/h, celebrated its world premiere at the 1957 Geneva Motor Show. The successor to the already legendary 300 SL Gullwing, it is technically similar to the Coupé, but with improved driving characteristics. Just 1,858 legendary Roadsters were built.
From BOCKEMÜHL Classic-Cars there will be a rare Jaguar Kougar Sport Special, a sports roadster from 1970. A Jaguar E-based special powered by a 265 hp engine, only 315 vehicles of this type were built. Just two approved Kougar Sports works cars are currently known to exist in Germany.
Potomac Classics will also be turning up with some exceptional vehicles. The specialist for exotic vehicles will be presenting, among others, an Amphicar 770 from the 1960s and a 1921 GN Cycle Car.
"Classic automobiles standing between new cars develop a quite special appeal," explains Meike Poweleit, Head of Fairs & Events at the Motorworld Group. "The smell of leather, the shine of their chrome-plated parts, the sound of the engine, the elegant or sporty design – cars like the E-Type Jaguar, the Porsche 356, the SL Pagoda or the VW T1 bring back memories, and are simply fun vehicles. With the 'IAA Heritage by Motorworld', classics like these can be experienced at this year's IAA, and offer a fascinating insight into the history of personal mobility."
A magical hotspot in the style of the good old days
The "IAA Heritage by Motorworld" will be a magical hotspot. Visitors embark on a journey down the years back to the good old days with fascinating exhibits, a large sprinkling of lifestyle, and artists roaming the halls and entertaining their audiences with swing and jazz tunes.
"The networking opportunities on the international stage of the IAA are also held in high regard," explains Meike Poweleit. "We would be thrilled if fans of historical mobility from all over the world were to use the "IAA Heritage by Motorworld" as a meeting place for car talk about the rustiest hobby in the world, and we welcome them warmly to Hall 4.0."
About the MOTORWORLD Group
The independent MOTORWORLD Group emerged from the DÜNKEL Holding corporate group based in Schemmerhofen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany). The origins of the family-run company go back to 1933. The Motorworld Group develops, builds and operates experience worlds that are dedicated to mobile passion.
The first location was Motorworld Region Stuttgart in Böblingen, which opened in 2009 and has since been expanded several times, winning several awards along the way. Further projects and activities under the MOTORWORLD® brand have been initiated in recent years. Following on with the same concept as Motorworld Region Stuttgart, Motorworld Köln-Rheinland opened in June 2018. Two further locations are currently under development: Motorworld München and Motorworld Zeche Ewald-Ruhr, Herten. The starting signal for the construction of Motorworld Mallorca is due to be given shortly.
The portfolio will be complemented by the Motorworld Manufaktur locations in Berlin, Metzingen, Rüsselsheim and Zurich. As their names suggest, the space for mobile passion at these locations will focus in particular on good old handicraft skills.
The Motorworld idea also regularly goes on tour, including to the annual classic car trade fairs Motorworld Classics Berlin and Motorworld Classics Bodensee in Friedrichshafen, to scene events such as the Motorworld Oldtimertage at Fürstenfeld (near Munich) as well as in numerous other guises.
The "IAA Heritage by Motorworld" rounds off the Motorworld Group's event portfolio both regionally and thematically. Existing formats and locations thus mesh perfectly with one another. They all abide by the motto "Space for mobile passion", interpreting it in many different facets.
