Ronald Ihrig studied industrial design in Darmstadt, Germany. In 1982, he gained his first practical experience in automotive design in the studios of Adam Opel AG / GM Europe. In 1984, he founded his own design studio based near Frankfurt for product & automotive design. Since 2010 he is lecturer in automotive brand and design history at University of Reutlingen and does arrange corporate presentations with designers from automotive industries for students. He also organizes the Automotive Designers’ Night in Frankfurt since 1997, and Paris since 2000. Several publications and comments about product and transportation design. He acts as a judge in many international design competitions and several concours d’elegance for classic cars.
