Frank Mastiaux is Chief Executive Officer of Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW) since October 2012. Having completed his studies and obtained a PhD in chemistry in 1993, Mr. Mastiaux began his career at Veba Oel AG in Gelsenkirchen, where he held various management positions until 1999. From 1998 to 1999, Frank Mastiaux was employed as Business Development manager for CITGO Petroleum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.
In 1999, he was appointed head of Supply and Sales at Veba Oel and, following the business combination of Veba and ARAL in 2000, he assumed responsibility as general manager of ARAL Mineralöl-Vertrieb GmbH. In 2001, after the takeover of Veba Oel and ARAL, he joined BP in London as general manager for marketing strategy and planning, as well as market research for the whole BP Group. From 2005 to 2007, he held the position of CEO in charge of BP's global liquefied petroleum gas business (LPG), specifically the marketing and sale of LPG across the entire value chain. In 2007, Frank Mastiaux switched to E.ON where he was entrusted with the expansion and management of the renewable energies business as CEO of E.ON Climate & Renewables. In his function as CEO of E.ON International Energy from 2010 to 2012 Mr. Mastiaux was responsible for the expansion of the group in high-growth markets outside Europe.
