Hildegard Müller (born in 1967) has been President of the VDA since February 1,
2020. She initially trained as a bank clerk at the Dresdner Bank before studying
business administration at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. In her last
position at the Dresdner Bank she served as a head of department.
From October 2002 to October 2008, Hildegard Müller was a member of the
Bundestag (German Parliament). She was also Minister of State to the Federal
Chancellor from 2005 to 2008.
In October 2008 Ms. Müller became Chief Executive Officer of the BDEW e.V.
(German Association of Energy and Water Industries) in Berlin. In May 2016 she
joined the Executive Board of innogy SE, where she was COO Grid & Infrastructure
and responsible for coordinating digital projects group-wide.
