When do tickets for the IAA go on sale?

The pre-sale for the Frankfurt Motor Show has started in July at the IAA website. All tickets are also available on the same terms at the IAA entrances on the trade fair grounds.

Can I reserve tickets?

There is no need to reserve tickets because during opening hours you can buy tickets at the cash desks at the trade fair grounds in Hannover without having to stand in line for a long time. So it is easy to visit the IAA even if you decide to come at short notice.

Are IAA entrance tickets valid on local public transport?

IAA entrance tickets entitle the holder to visit the trade fair and take advantage of services offered to visitors to the IAA on the trade fair grounds. There is no charge for using the shuttle buses between the designated IAA parking lots and the trade fair grounds. The use of public transport to reach the grounds is not included in the IAA visitor services. This has allowed us to keep the IAA admission prices down for many years and enabled visitors to plan their journeys individually.

Is my ticket valid for multiple entries to the trade fair grounds on one day?

Each admission ticket allows the holder to visit the IAA once, up to the time when you leave the trade fair grounds, at the latest up to evening closing time. If you urgently need to interrupt your visit to the trade fair, you should speak to the supervisor at the entry/exit point when you leave the grounds.

What ID do I need on "trade days" at the IAA?

The two trade days at the IAA offer the opportunity to visit the motor show for business purposes before the public days. You do not need to be accredited as a professional visitor or a trader, but there are special entrance tickets for both days at special prices. The tickets for the trade days can be purchased in advance from July 2011, or on the same conditions from the cash desks at the grounds on trade days. Presale tickets to the IAA Cars 2011 are available here now. Just like all IAA tickets, the tickets for the trade days entitle the holder to enter the fair once. If these special tickets are not used on trade days, they may still be used on a public day afterwards.

Is the ticket for trade days valid for both day (Sep 15 and 16, 2011)?

No, this ticket is a day ticket like all other IAA tickets, it is valid for one person and one day. In case the trade day ticket could not be used on a trade day, it can be used on a public day afterwards.

Can disabled/handicapped persons visit the IAA?

There is barrier-free access to the entire IAA grounds. Parking spaces are available for less mobile visitors, and toilets for the disabled are provided. Wheelchair users and visitors to the trade fair whose ID card is marked “B” are entitled to free entry to the IAA for themselves and one attendant, upon presentation of appropriate official ID at the cash desks. Messe Frankfurt offers a hotline for disabled persons to help them plan their visit to the fair grounds: tel.: +49 69 7575-6999, email: handicap@messefrankfurt.com.

Why is the IAA sometimes held in Hannover and sometimes in Frankfurt?

The IAA is the largest automotive trade fair in the world, both for passenger cars and for commercial vehicles. Owing to the increasing numbers of visitors and exhibitors, at the beginning of the 1990s the IAA was divided into one trade show for passenger cars and one for commercial vehicles, which now take place in alternate years. In odd-numbered years the IAA Cars is held in Frankfurt and in even-numbered years the IAA Commercial Vehicles is held in Hannover.
