It is the year 2030. A “15” is flashing on the display of Thilo Schneider’s tablet. Now he knows that in a quarter of an hour he will have to leave the convoy and take action himself at least for a short period. But before that he still has time to check the GPS coordinates and update his destination.

The traffic seems pretty calm today off the freeway. Just a quick look at his e-mails: there’s no important news. Schneider uses WhatsApp to inform the other trucks that he’s about to leave the platoon.

City buses, vans and distribution trucks are increasingly using electric power.

Online press accreditation for IAA Commercial Vehicles starts

66th IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover – Journalists can now register

With immediate effect journalists from all over the world can now apply online for accreditation to attend the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles. The IAA is being held in Hanover from 22 September to 29 September 2016. (Press Preview Day 21 September, Press and Opening Day: 22 September). Access to the accreditation portal can be found in the press sector of the IAA website at

The prerequisite for obtaining the IAA press ticket is a valid press card. The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), organizer of the IAA, is responsible for checking and approving the accreditation. Accreditation in the run-up to the IAA Commercial Vehicles is possible solely online. After the VDA Accreditation Team has checked the documentation, journalists will receive their press ticket and where appropriate their parking permit per e-mail. The window for online accreditation closes on Friday, 16 September 2016.

66th IAA Commercial Vehicles with many novelties: New Mobility World Logistics and Guided Tours

The world’s most important trade fair for transport, logistics and mobility – the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles – will be held in Hannover from September 22 to 29, 2016. Tickets for the IAA can be ordered now. A regular day ticket costs 22 euros on weekdays and 13 euros on the weekend. Schoolchildren, students, apprentices, participants in the German Federal Voluntary Service and persons completing a voluntary social/ecological year can obtain a concessionary ticket for 7 euros. The afternoon ticket is also being offered again, valid from 13 h on weekdays and costing 10 euros. A family ticket for 24 euros will be available for two adults and a maximum of three children under 18, enabling the whole family to have the exhibition experience. Once again the popular “Trucker Ticket” will be available, which can only be purchased from cash desks on the show grounds: truck drivers who present their driver card and valid photo ID will receive this day ticket for only 10 euros.

All the tickets can be purchased – and registered – at our online Ticketshop. Registration offers many advantages: a personalized eTicket gives visitors convenient, paperless entry to the exhibition. After successful registration, the ticket can be accessed on a smartphone. It also enables exhibitors and visitors to share contact data fast and conveniently.

“New Mobility World logistics” at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016 presents logistics and transport topics of the future

During the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hannover (September 22 to 29, 2016), the “New Mobility World logistics” will bring exhibitors and visitors together with a wide range of activities. The new format, intended to function as a multiplier for logistics and transport topics of the future, presents the five key themes: (1) Connected Vehicle, (2) Driver Assistance Systems and Automated Driving, (3) Alternative Powertrains, (4) Urban Logistics and (5) Transport Services.

Visitors to the trade show can familiarize themselves with these topics in various ways. There will be presentations in the form of congresses with discussion forums and exhibitions, test drives in electric vehicles, and demonstrations of products, services and applications on the “New Mobility World LIVE” demonstration area. We are also offering four themed guided tours for the first time.
